A test or an exam tests your students knowledge of your material. Whether you're teaching a class for an educational institution, Ensuring a new outsourcer who you're onboarding into your company is understanding the information or a student of yours who has purchased your course is learning and understanding your content. A test/exam is a useful tool to use.
With Member App it was our goal to create a testing system that enabled creators to restrict access to future modules if a certain % was not achieved or a exam was not passed. This means that you can be sure your students are completing the training information and have a full understanding of it before they move onto the next module.
If you want to learn how to setup a test/exam within Member App it's really easy.
Select the course that you want to add a Test/Exam to.
Now the course creation engine has loaded. Navigate to the module you want to add the Test/Exam to and select this icon here:
Click 'Edit Course' to start editing course contents.
Now the course creation engine has loaded. Navigate to the module you want to add the Quiz, Poll or Test to and select this icon here:
This will now load a dropdown area where you'll be able to create your Test/Exam:
Name your Test/Exam. This name will show at the top when your students reach it within their training modules inside of your course.
You can then choose whether to require a certain amount of questions within your Test/Exam to be answered correctly for a student to move onto the next stage in your training.
It's recommended that you use this feature to incentivise your students to fill in your Test/Exam entirely. It also adds a level of seriousness to your training which is necessary to ensure that your students stay plugged in and feel like they are progressing well. On average an 80% pass mark is probably a good mark to set so your students feel like they have achieved something when they pass your test and move onto the next module. This is of course up to you.
From there you can type in your first question.
Select what type of answers you are looking for. For a Test/Exam you can choose to use one or all four different types of answers. You might want to test a range of your students knowledge and a combination of written text answers as well as multi-choice will help to do that. You can select from the following:
Text response: Your student can add a text response. You can review this response manually and mark it manually or automatically.
Choose One from a list: Your student can choose an answer from a list of responses to the question. There is only one correct answer.
Choose Multiple from a list: Your student can choose many answers from a list. There may be one or multiple responses.
Upload files (For manual review): Your student can upload a work file or document for your to review manually.
Write mutliple questions and select from the 4 possible types of answers in creating your course.
Once you've finished filling in your test/exam you can preview what it looks like by going to the top of the test/exam and selecting the eye icon here:
If everything looks good you can publish your test/exam by selecting the 'Save' button at the bottom of the course creation engine.
Your test/exam will now be updated within your course and your students will be tested on their knowledge of your content.
If you want to review their answers to your questions then you can use our analytics system to do that. Here is training on how to do it and how to both review and mark your students tests depending on your test/exam settings.
