In order for your domain to function properly with Member App, you need to set up correct DNS records. This operation has to be performed in your domain registrar's dashboard. If you see a 'Conflicting A records in DNS' error on your Member App domain Settings page, this means our platform detected conflicting records and your students may have issues with course access.
To resolve this error login to your domain registrar's dashboard and locate DNS records management page for the domain you've connected to Member App. Web interface may differ depending on particular domain registrar. The page should have a list of records like in the screenshot below.
Find two conflicting A records. The screenshot below shows a common case: a new record with the correct IP was added right after domain purchase at GoDaddy, but the default 'parking page' record was not removed.
The correct A records has to point to the IP of the Member App server. The IP value can be found on your domain settings page
. Remove all other A records. To do that in GoDaddy, click the pencil icon:
An edit form will open. Click the trash icon to delete the incorrect record.
All changes made to your DNS records take time to become effective. Allow for some time for the changes to propagate. A good rule of thumb is to wait for 24 hours after you've made the changes. Go back to your Member App domain settings
page and check your domain status.
