Cloudflare provides domain protection and an additional layer of security for your Membership websites. If you would like to use Cloudflare with Member App then the first step is to correctly setup your DNS records.
To do this first ensure that your domain has been connected correctly to Member App. You can follow our instructions here to find out how to do that.
Once you've done that, login to your Cloudflare account. To do that, enter your email, password and click 'Log in'.
If you don't have an account yet, follow these instructions here on how to create a new Cloudflare account.
You will be redirected to Cloudflare Dashboard. Click '+Add Site' to add your domain to Cloudflare.
Enter your domain and click 'Add site'.
Select your plan in Cloudflare. You can change your plan later at any time. Click 'Confirm plan'.
Cloudflare is going to scan your existing DNS records and automatically save them into their DNS servers. You will see a list of your records on the next page. Confirm the correct A record exists. and click Continue.
On the next step Cloudflare will provide you with new DNS servers. Do not close this page at this point. You're going to need these server domain names in the following step.
Go to your domain registrar's account and locate DNS management settings for your domain. The location of these settings may vary depending on which domain registrar you use. In GoDaddy locate the list of your registered domains and click 'DNS' button located on the right next to the domain you're trying to add to Cloudflare.
On the next page, scroll down to the section named Nameservers and click the 'Change' button.
Note: you're going to change DNS server to the new ones, not manage DNS records in your current DNS servers.
Click 'Enter my own nameservers (advanced)' button on the next screen.
You will be presented with a form where you need to input the DNS servers provided by Cloudflare. Do that and click 'Save'. Your DNS servers will be changed.
Go back to Cloudflare website, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click 'Done, check nameservers'. At this point Cloudflare won't be able to verify the new nameservers, because DNS changes are reflected instantly. Most likely, you'll have to wait for about 24 hours for these changes to come into effect. You will be able to re-check your new nameservers anytime later from the Cloudflare dashboard.
Cloudflare will ask you for initial settings for your domain. You can set or change these settings later, it's safe to skip them at this time. Click 'Done' button to proceed.
You will be redirected to your Cloudflare dashboard, where you can check your domain status and apply various settings.
You've successfully set up your domain to work with MemberApp behind Cloudflare network.
